Dear St. Anne Parish, School, and Preschool Academy Families,
Today I met with Mr. Armato, our St. Anne School teachers, and our Parish and School staff for a nice lunch and candid conversation to discuss the upcoming school year. It was good to hear from each of them one-by-one, as they shared their thoughts, concerns, and suggestions. During our gathering, I expressed how proud I am of them for their courage and their collaboration over this past year of unprecedented challenges.
I shared with them that the further analysis of the School portion of the building is nearing completion. I also shared that I spoke this week with the president of the engineering firm we are using to put together the architectural drawings for the repairs of our Church roof. I explained to him the concrete details of our situation and the urgency to have the drawings completed as soon as possible. He confirmed that the work on the drawings will begin next week, and that he anticipates having the repair drawings completed the week of July 12th – 16th. He said, however, that, if his firm can improve on that time line (i.e., have the drawings completed sooner), it will do so.
Once the architectural drawings are complete, we will promptly share them with the contractor we have lined up for a second bid. The contractor will then be able to give us his proposal for the project, specifying the exact cost and time frame for the repair work. The repairs could begin as early as August. With that in mind, we plan on beginning the upcoming school year at the First United Methodist Church in Dixon.
While much of the work over the past four months has involved assessing the structural problem and finding qualified professionals to assist with the repairs, we are coming close to beginning the actual repair work. Thank you again for your continued patience and prayers. It was edifying to see and join so many gathered in prayer on Tuesday evening to ask the Lord to bless our St. Anne Parish and School.
Fr. Timothy Draper,
Pastor
