July 14, 2021
Dear St. Anne Parish, School, and Preschool Academy Families,
I write to provide two important updates on the status of our St. Anne Church and School building.
First, on Friday, July 9, 2021, we received the report from the engineer commissioned with providing the follow-up safety analysis of the roof beams in the School portion of the building. I am happy to share that the report did not indicate any repair work needed on the roof beams in the School portion of the building. Hence, besides the repair work needed for the Church roof beams, we do not anticipate the need for any additional repair work on the roof beams in the School portion of the building. My sincere thanks to the engineer for his detailed analysis and report. As we hope soon to begin the repair work on the Church roof beams, we plan to begin the school year at the First United Methodist Church in Dixon and, then, return to our building when the repairs on the Church roof beams have been completed.
Second, yesterday we received the completed architectural drawings for the repair of our Church roof beams. With the help of our architectural firm, we are now reviewing those drawings and ironing out some final details in preparation for soon sharing them with the contractor we have lined up for a second bid. Based upon these drawings, the contractor will then formulate his proposal for the project, specifying the exact cost and time frame for the repair work.
We are continuing to make progress. Again, we will inform you of any further updates. In the meantime, please continue to keep our Parish and School in your prayers.
Fr. Timothy Draper,
